OUR BELIEFS

Life Is Hard…We Want To Help

Life is hard. We live in an imperfect, sinful world, and we see the results of it every day. John 16:33 tells us, “In this world you will have trouble.” That trouble surfaces in marital problems, family issues, anxiety and depression, grief during times of loss, or even PTSD during times of severe distress. None of us are immune from trials and tribulations. We all face times in our lives when we need someone to help us navigate through our troubles – and that is why Christ Counseling Ministry exists.

Christ Counseling Ministry offers a team of dedicated licensed professional counselors who have the training and experience to help you walk through troubled times. Unlike many others counselors, our counselors approach everything from a uniquely Christian perspective, understanding that they are just a guide and Christ himself is the ultimate Counselor and Healer.

While struggles are inevitable, victory is possible! With Christ living through us, we have hope and power. The good news is that while John 16:33 may start with “In this world you will have trouble,” it continues with, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Our emotions, our fears, and our dependence on others do NOT have to control us. With the right tools and a trustworthy trained guide, we can grow and learn to live lives of wholeness in Jesus Christ. Our counselors desire to lead all of our clients to this place of maturity. Let’s face it, life is hard! But we can help.

Financial Accountability

The leadership team of Christ Counseling Ministry believes it is important for us to hold the highest standards of financial accountability. Our Board of Directors regularly reviews monthly financial statements, and we conduct an audit or review every year with an outside accounting firm. That same firm is responsible for submitting our yearly 990 federal tax return. This form contains detailed information about our finances and our operations. Our Vision, Mission, and Values

Vision:
Our vision is that people who have been broken by our fallen world will experience restoration and healing through Jesus Christ, in all areas of their being: physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. (John 10:10)

Mission:
Christ Counseling Ministry offers clinically trained professionals devoted to restoring lives to wholeness in Christ through Christ-centered counseling, teaching, and prayer.

Values:
1.    Redemption:
new life, lived to the fullest, is possible for all, through a relationship with God the Father, by salvation through Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, Colossians 1:13-14)
2.    Truth: There is absolute Truth and it is found in in God’s Word, the Holy Bible as revealed though Jesus Christ by God the Father. (John 1:1, 2 Timothy 3:16)
3.    Worth: All human beings are of infinite worth and value in God’s eyes and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect by others. (Genesis 1:27)
4.   Voice: Our counselors provide a place for everyone, especially those who previously have felt marginalized or victimized, to be able to freely express their needs, emotions, fears, and desires.
5.    Safety/security: Our environment is one where clients are safe to be who God created them to be and where they can express themselves and their feelings with no judgement.
6.   Autonomy: We desire to help clients understand that with proper boundaries, they can have control over their own lives and make decisions about their own beliefs; individuals are responsible for who and what they will allow to affect their thoughts and feelings.

About Us

Founded in 1991, Christ Counseling Ministry is a nonprofit, faith-based counseling center offering a Fee Assistance for clients who cannot afford to pay the full counseling fee; we also accept Medicaid & Medicare. We operate under the guidance of a Board of Directors.

Since our humble beginning, we have been blessed with much: an office building, dedicated counselors & administrative staff and thousands of restored lives.  These blessings would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors.

For the past decade, there have been approximately 5,000 client sessions a year; however, in 2021 and 2022, we finished the year with over 6,000 sessions.  Clients that are unable to cover the full cost of counseling are offered Fee Assistance; annually, clients use $250,000 - $300,000 of fee assistance funds that come from donors.

What began as a small counseling ministry is one now of the largest professional counseling centers in the North Texas area. With a team of mental health professionals, Christ Counseling Ministry is dedicated to providing quality care in a safe, joyful, and healing atmosphere. We seek to help clients experience a renewed sense of hope and purpose. Our staff of licensed professional counselors serves everyone, ages 3 and up, with any number of concerns from common anxiety to serious mental illness.
